Father's Day

Sunday was a wonderful day! We took our mule to the Breaks of the Mountains and rode from Kentucky into Virginia and it was beautiful. My DH enjoyed his Father's Day, we packed a picnic and ate our lunch by the river and saw so many beautiful trees, butterflies and flowers. I'm so thankful that he is the father of my children and what a wonderful father he is. Have a great week!

Furniture Makeover

My sons' bedroom furniture was in need of new pulls and WOW!!! what a difference new hardware made! Just take a look at what $60 can do for old furninture with broken pulls. I replaced the pulls on the dresser, chest of drawers and nightstand. The first picture is of the new pulls, the second is of the old.
Have a great day!!!

Fun In The Sun!

We had a beautiful day yesterday for boating! I love being at the lake with my family, we have been visiting Lake Cumberland for 12 years and it feels like a home away from home. Our summer rental cottage won't be ready until next weekend so we just stayed for the day and drove home late last night. We have so many traditions and memories that involve the lake, like the children always get an ice cream from one of the ship stores (even if its 30 degrees outside), we feed the ducks and turtles, everyone takes a turn driving the boat, the boys always want to take a silly picture and list goes on! I think the best part for me is that my husband can unwind from the pressures of his job and relax! Everyone seems happier at the lake, I look forward the summer months ahead the serenity that the lake holds for my family.

Frugal Goals for May
I have made a menu of dinners for the month of May and have stocked my freezer and pantry so that I only need to buy fresh produce, milk and bread for the month of May. Now, let's see how long that last, LOL!!! I need to save $531 by July 1st to pay for our children's books and supply fees at school. I plan on having a huge yard sale on Friday May 9th and all that is made from the sale will go towards this goal. Also, I'm taking some of my better items to a local consignment shop, I hope to make a few extra dollars from this. I have tons of stuff to list on ebay and as soon as I take my last final exam I will be the listing queen! If you have boys that wear a size 6 or 7 lookout for my ebay items in the coming weeks, I have lots of great items!! Have a great Wednesday.
