Decorating Help

Okay ladies I'm in desperate need of help! I don't know what to do with my mantle, at Christmas is was so pretty, now it's back to being boring. We have lived in this has for three years and I have never done anything with the plant shelf behind the chairs, I need help with that as well. I would love all of your suggestions, I have about $100 to spend, I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

I am not sure, because I am not much of a decorator. I do know that arrangements and pictures add a lot to a room though. Sorry for being so vague. Many blessings and cannot wait to see pix.

Blessings!

One thing that I would love to have more of on my mantle is topiaries. I think a grouping of three of them (different sizes or shapes, maybe?) would be really pretty!

Hi There....I would paint the inside (or at least the back wall of the bookshelves) a color that you have in the room to make things "pop". Group the books, picture frame and similar accessories together. If you have some black or iron accesories, those would look good on the mantel since you have the pretty iron scoll work hanging above. Remember to use different heights on the mantle for interest. Add the largest items you want up there, and then fill in with the smaller things. Wander around your house and collect groupings of things and play with placing them in the shelves and on the mantel. It's amazing what you can find in your own house/yard/garage/attic/shed that you can use. Look at things differently and see if they can be re-purposed. Good Luck! I need decorating help with my whole house so I won't offer any suggestions but just say that I like the black scroll thing that's on the wall above the fireplace. :)
