This & That

It's official our house is on the market, we have signed a contract on our new house but we have to sell this house first.

Thursday was my wonderful husband's 39th birthday, we celebrated with a four-day weekend at the lake, the candles on his cake set off the smoke detector in the camper, LOL!! He didn't see the humor in this!

My step-daughter will be here in less than two weeks to spend the entire summer with us, she is saying that she is going to live with us for the next school year, we'll see what happens. She is a lovely young lady and would be a delight to our household.

I have been looking for new furniture for the new house, my goodness its expensive!

I hope that you have a wonderful week!

Show Us Your Life

Kelly's Korner blog is hosting her link party today and this weeks theme is children's names, what they are or what you hope them to be.

Family has always been important to Tom and me, Tom comes from a very small family and I come from a HUGE family. While we were dating we decided if we ever had a boy his first name would be after Tom's great-grandfather and the middle name would be after my Daddy, so we named our first born son:

Johnson Douglas

When we found out we were expecting again I wanted to name our future son Anderson Thomas, after Tom's other great-grandfather and Thomas is Tom's given name. After our second son was born we called him Anderson Thomas for the first day, told everyone that was his name, it was a done deal, NOT! Before Tom went home that night he wrote down four or five names and said "pick one and I'll fill out the birth certificate in the morning", I told him he could write all he wanted his name was ANDERSON. That night I had to leave my newborn bundle of joy in the nursery because I was having surgery very early the next morning and I had a rough delivery, I kissed him on his tiny soft cheeks and said, "goodnight Anderson, Mommy loves you" and started to walk away, he cried and without even thinking I said "JONAH Mommy's right here" he couldn't be anything other than:

Jonah Thomas
I believe that the name we as parents give our child is one of the greatest gifts! Have a great Mother's Day weekend!!!

Summer Style

I normally never wear dresses, my "uniform" is capri pants and a Talbots t-shirt but this summer while I've been online shopping I have fallen in love with several dresses. Here are a couple of my favorites from JJill, I have ordered the blue dress now I need to find the perfect shoes, LOL!!!

New York State of Mind

I love to travel!
With that said I have been wanting to visit NYC for the past few months to do some serious shopping! I lived with a family in New Rochelle, NY when I was 18 yrs old, I worked as their nanny for 6 weeks, I wish I had stayed my full year but at the time I missed my boyfriend and my family being the stupid teenager that I was I highed tailed it back to Kentucky.
While I was there I loved going into the city on the weekends, there was so much to see and do.
My oldest son has an obsession with NYC and I'm thinking of taking just him on weekend getaway to the Big Apple. I think its important to make each child feel special and to spend one on one time doing the things that interest them.
