Recovery

I'm home and doing well, thank you for your much needed prayers. I feel better now than I did this time last week, the dark circles that I've had under my eyes for months are gone and the whites of my eyes are brighter than they have been in years, Tom says I look like a young girl again! The hard part is going to be not over doing it, I haven't felt this good in a very long time. Thanks again for your prayers.

Thyroid Surgery

Finally after eight long months of seeing several different doctors I will be having my thyroid removed tomorrow with a few lymph nodes. I'm a nervous wreck, I know that this is needed but it doesn't make it any easier. My surgeon said that it was a fairly easy surgery and should only take about 1- 1 1/2 hours to complete, my scar will be anywhere from three to five inches long and I should only need to spend one night in the hospital. Please say a prayer for me tomorrow for a safe surgery and speedy recovery.

Photography 101

For Christmas last year Tom gave me a new camera, eight months later and I still don't have a clue what all the buttons are for! I love to surf blogs and checkout other people's favorite lists, while I was visiting The Bird's Nest I clicked on one of her favorites, Angie Seaman Photography and what to my wondering eyes did appear, a beginners class in photography, just what I need! I can't wait, I have paid my investment fee and I'm eagerly awaiting September 1st! I have emailed Angie a couple of times and she explained how the class works and what we will learn, so my fellow bloggers in about a week you will start to see some of my first photos! I wonder will happen when I use something other than the auto function?

Thankful

I'm thankful for so many things in my life, my wonderful husband is one of the things that I'm most thankful for, he is an amazing man who is patient, kind, loving and quick to forgive. I'm always proud of him but lately I have been so even more, he received a huge promotion at work and I can't think of a better man for the job!

Lazy Days of Summer

The lazy days of summer vacation are coming to an end, the boy's school starts back August 19th, they are so excited! Yes I know it's weird for children to actually like school but we have a great little school. We went shopping for school supplies yesterday, I love the smell of crayons and paper! It has been a very rainy summer in Eastern Kentucky, we've only got to swim a few times in the pool and lake, hopefully, this weekend will be better. I'm looking forward to fall, I love the changing of the leaves and sweaters. However, I'm not looking forward to Christmas, I dread shopping for everyone so I think I will do online shopping this year for gift cards.
