Rain, Rain, Go Away

It feels like it has been raining for the past month and there is no end in sight! My children are going crazy, they can't play outside, go swimming or go to the lake. I guess we should be thankful for the rain because many parts of Kentucky need it desperately.

School will be out on May 22nd, yeah!! I love having the boys home for the summer, we sleep late, eat lunch out, swim and play all day long. We are planning a short trip to Hilton Head Island in August, I have never been there but a recent article in Southern Living has sparked my desire. Last summer we went to Gulf Shores, Alabama because of Southern Living and we had a great time. What are your summer plans?

We have a contractor coming tomorrow to give us an estimate on several outside projects, I hope that he isn't too expensive because I really want these things repaired. I have started on a few inside projects, I have all of the closets and drawers cleaned out. I still can't decide on a paint color for the dining room and kitchen, I have it narrowed down to two colors.

Tom's grandfather isn't doing any better, we are still going three times a day to care for him, please continue to pray for his health. I see a thyroid specialist on Tuesday hopefully she will be able to explain why my lymph nodes and thyroid are enlarged, please keep me in your prayers as well.

Have a great weekend!

Oh, I love that picture! To me, it takes me back to the days of childhood and annual vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina--a highlight of my life! :) We thought about going there this year, but decided instead to go to California to visit Jeff's family and our friends there, so we're supposed to leave on Tuesday for that trip. We have to have our "summer" vacation early this year because of the baby being due in July. ;)

May 22 is getting close! Your boys get out much earlier than the public schools around here. I heard from a teacher friend here that the last day of school is June 11--yikes! It made me glad I homeschool. :)

Your summer plans sound exciting and relaxing - yay!

We're going to St. Augustine in FL. We've been there before and loved all the history. I'm dreading taking a one year old on that VERY long trip, but she'll have fun once we get there (I hope).
